Country Butter Biscuit

Nearly two weeks since my last post... I can simply chalk that up to being sick, spending a ton of money, being more sick, falling behind in school, and celebrating my anniversary by winning and then losing money.

Sounds lovely? Some of it was.

School money has vanished nearly as quick as it arrived. No, it wasn't just 'blown' on various things with nothing to show for it. I purchased items that we still have. Were they all NEEDED per say? That is debatable.

I finally had the opportunity to buy things for my children. My two beautiful girls. Yes, clothes that they desperately did need, a new television (since their old was was very broken), and a few toys or gadgets here and there. For Adam, he received a new amp (because we will be playing music again soon!) and quite a large number of new clothes. Everyone had a fresh new haircut, as well as a couple of lovely meals. For myself, a new phone, FINALLY, and an Xbox..

Although quite frankly, nearly all the game playing has been done by Adam since it was placed in our house. Who would have thought? Certainly not I.. as I yawn from interrupted sleep due to the sounds of nearly half naked women (and men, I guess), punching and kicking in ways that are obviously not possible outside the realm of digital, oversexed demons.

So now we have entertainment for our house, which is honestly a lot less expensive than any other alternative. Adam and I celebrated our anniversary last weekend, and it was splendid. I bought for him a shiny pocket watch, complete with a train on the front and my insistence that it will look super cool upon stage to pull it out and pretend to be important. However, he surpassed anything I could have thought of, by surprising me with a developed camera of photos from our last remaining day in Davenport, IA.. as well as some pretty perfume and a beautiful card with a handwritten message included. My pocket watch faded quickly into the background and I was overwhelmed with nostalgia and happiness. Well done, sir. Well done.

I am SO very far behind in all of my classes that I am not sure if I will actually be able to catch up. Algebra, which was already an issue for me, has a test on Wednesday and I am four sections behind on the homework, (which I do not understand). I am sure that History and World Literature is going to kick my ass... Philosophy doesn't seem too bad, though. Well, if I can pass at least one class... does that count for anything? Hah. I was so very sick... for such a long time. I am still not completely well, and when you add menstruation plus curious children and a late night husband, I probably sound like a "B" with a bad -itch with all of my complaining.

So for now, I will stop. I need to heat up the car anyway, since there is ice on the windshield. Melanie and I are off to face another day of school, while Kyla and Adam just do whatever it is they do..Soon we will be practicing for our gigs coming up soon... two that we have scheduled for ourselves and hopefully many more that the company we have signed with, "Verse 8" will acquire for us. Adam says he is frightened.. I am eager. I hope with that combination, we will still come out on top.

Only time will tell...
